"Arborists specialise in the care of individual trees. They are knowledgeable about the needs of trees and are trained and equipped to provide proper care.
Hiring an arborist is a decision that should not be taken lightly. Proper tree care is an investment that can lead to substantial returns. Well cared-for
trees are attractive and can add considerable value to your property. Poorly maintained trees can be a significant liability. Pruning or removing trees,
especially large trees, can be dangerous work. Tree work should be done only by those trained and equipped to work safely in trees...." Good advice from The International Society of Arboriculture which we fully agree with!!
Our Week in Brief:
Tuesday After the long weekend full of glorious sunshine we are back and hard at work. Our teams find themselves in High Wycombe today. One team carrying out preventative maintenance works to an Ash tree at a local nursery school, with our other team crown reducing a variety of Maple trees on behalf of Wycombe District Council. Our area of work frequently requires us to be on the move and helps the boys get to grips with their geography!
Thursday- Friday: Another day, another location with one team working in Sittingbourne, Kent for a long standing commercial client and another team in the city of Cambridgeshire. Like Sittinbourne, Cambridge of course has an extensive history and whilst our teams do not usually get the chance to explore, it is always nice to carry out works in such historical locations.
We currently have one full-time vacancy for a groundworker / trainee tree surgeon.
A good level of past experience is essential and you must hold relevant NPTC certificates.
You must also be accustomed to working to a high standard of both quality and safety and hold a full driving license.
In return the successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary in line with qualifications and experience and receive additional training as part of our continued professional development and training programme. All PPE and equipment will be also be provided. Please contact us to find out more.....
Wednesday: The gusty gales have left us with more than windswept hair! Teams have been called to emergencies within the London Borough of Barnet where a Prunus was blocking access to residential properties and in Buntingford a valued domestic customer found a Thorn tree no longer standing but resting on his garage roof! Never a dull day at JWSalmon!
The week ahead: As heavy rain and winds are forecast, we are prepared for the possibility of more emergency calls but routine works also have to go on. So, keep a strong brolly with you and remember that JW Salmon carry out an extensive range of tree works, including planting, pruning and removals and that when the need arises, a 24hour emergency service too!
We are also currently working with the National Apprenticeship Service and have developed one vacancy for a full time apprentice.
For this role no past experience or qualifications are necessary as you will be training one day per week in college and spending four days per week in the workplace.
Please contact us to find out more about this role or the National Apprenticeship Service for general information on apprenticeships.
